Does the AirSense 11 Water Chamber Hold Up?
Просмотров 63014 дней назад
Does the water chamber of the ResMed AirSense 10 hold more water than the AirSense 11? It's an age-old debate that has caused many CPAP users to throw out expensive machines! So, naturally, we decided to test ResMed's claim that both water tubs have the same capacity - and what to do if you find that the water in the AirSense 11 doesn't last as long as the AirSense 10. 5 HACKS for the AirSense ...

    At a certain point, it doesn't really matter. I've used the Resmed 10 and currently the 11. No matter if in a hotel sharing the room with a friend, or in my same bed with a girlfriend, the 11 is not loud enough to bother a soul, so it meets my minimum criteria. I'm just wondering if the Airmini would be too loud in a hotel situation but it's easy enough taking my 11 on trips with its great carry case.

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop 4 часа назад

      The AirMini is around 30 dBA, which is around the same noise level as someone whispering nearby. It shouldn't bother whoever's sleeping in the hotel room with you unless they are really noise sensitive. It actually sounds a bit like white noise to other people.

    How do adjust the pressure minimal to three, maximum to 10 please

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop 4 часа назад

      The minimum pressure only goes down to 4 on this machine. To change your pressure settings, you'll need to enter the provider menu: press and hold the ramp button and the round knob for about 5 secs. You'll want to change your mode to APAP (auto CPAP) and then you can adjust pressure settings. Please do not change your therapy settings without first consulting your doctor :)

    The FDA literally has a video warning about using UV and ozone specifically for CPAP. There is some evidence that UV will damage your gear and ozone may actually harm your health. Any channel that isn’t upfront about this probably isn’t trustworthy. Just use a soap and water and you’re good.

    You have suggested purchasing more components in an effort to try and make an expensive design flaw quieter. None of these suggestions will work. The filter housing with the exhale vent is the issue and needs to be redesigned. Resmed needs to listen to it's customers and release an updated solution yesterday.

      We have a video where we compared the difference in noise level before and after using all the noise dampening add-ons: ruclips.net/video/hFWjZRTNNKM/видео.html Of course, if ResMed releases an upgraded design for their AirMini mask setup, that would solve everything.

    I love the profile, great face seal and ease of shifting around on the bed. I get a strong constant air stream coming out of the bottom of the mask. Losing 17L/hr. Is this normal? The internal flap seems to be working but the air stream is disconcerting. Is it working as designed? This is my first experience with it. Other masks I’ve used only expel air when you exhale, not constantly like this mask

    • @RespShop

      In-line bacterial filters can be helpful if you have allergies or a cold but like you said, they affect the pressure that you actually receive. If you're going to use them, make sure to change them out according to the manufacturer's recommended frequency or else there's no point in using a filter.

      If you know your prescription pressure, you can double check that your CPAP's set up properly. Also, you can try the "soft" response for a more gradual increase in pressure.

Touch screen is no great upgrade because 10 you moved by line and 11 move by screen grouping. Would rather they keep same heating tubing as 10 would also be better of bought extra tubing since big enough investment. Only big change is coming to presser the 10 blow air fast through the hose making a feeling of mask blowing up like a balloon while 11 is very gentle flow and I don't get that mask blow-up feel. Mine came preset with regular hose so ordered heated hose not cheap. Oh and I never had 10 update OS at lest I know

    The AirCurve 11 bipap function works great. The water chamber is the most poorly designed object since serial Christmas lighting. It is impossible to pour water into that thing anywhere NEAR the line and not spill it over your nightstand. If Moses parted the water in this chamber, it would still spill out the opening. If Jesus were here, he'd turn the water into wine, drink it all, then throw this bipap water chamber into the sea where Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes. After 15 years of CPAP use, over 4 devices with NEVER a problem, I know it's not me. Resmed, you really screwed the pooch on this one.
